Spinning.

Change.

Sometimes, it strikes like lightning – fast, powerful and threatening.

Sometimes, it hurts like hell – a diagnosis, an injury, a loss of someone close to you.

Sometimes, it’s thrilling – a new job, a move to an exotic place, a budding relationship with a beautiful partner.

Sometimes, it means growth – letting go of an old, unhealthy behavior, investing time in a new hobby that inspires you, letting yourself feel what you need to feel.

Change is all of these things and more. It would be nice if life gave you one change at a time, but sometimes it throws you several at once. It feels like you’re spinning on a carousel, desperately searching your blurred surroundings for something still, something stable.

Remember in these moments – that YOU, yourself, are something solid. Put your hand over your chest and feel the familiar rhythm that is your pulse. As much as the world changes and spins, remember your feet standing their ground. You are you and though you may grow and evolve, the essence of your being will remain. You have survived so many storms.

You will survive this one, too.
